Starting This Thursday, February 6, "Leading Congregations through Crisis" with Greg Hunt

On July 12, 2009, the youth and adult sponsors from First Baptist Church in Shreveport, La., were involved in a tragic bus accident, leaving two dead and others seriously injured.

Rev. Greg Hunt suddenly found himself leading a congregation
in crisis.

Effective leadership during a church’s unexpected situational crises can make the difference as to whether things get better or worse. This course provides best-practices guidance for leading during, after, and even before crisis strikes. Putting Christ and mission at the center of the conversation, Hunt examines what happens when crisis strikes and how congregational leaders can prepare for future crises, navigate through current ones, and transform crises into opportunities for congregational learning and development.

This course is based on Geg's Chalice Press book of the same title and is available in our online bookstore.

Greg Hunt will lead this six-week course online at TransformingTheChurch.org beginning February 6, 2014.

The course fee is $99 and covers the six high-quality video-on-demand sessions and six weekly live conference calls with Greg.

About This Course

This course is entirely online; no travel is required and all you need to participate is an web browser and a suitable broadband Internet connection.

The course is conducted over a period of six weeks. In this period, each student will watch the week's video-on-demand lecture and then meet together via a live interactive conference call to discuss the week's assignment with Greg and other members of the class as well as ask any questions you might have.

TransformingTheChurch.org and Christian College are collaborating with The Columbia Partnership to bring leaders and champions a series of online courses to prepare congregations to engage in transitions and changes that may lead to their transformation.
